Does GVO Have A Web Hosting Site Builder?
A web hosting site builder? This is a bit of a strange question that I get every once in a while when people ask me about GVO.
Does it have a site builder? Well, the straight answer to this is yes! But, it may be a different type of answer compared to what some people might be looking for.
I think the reason I get asked this question is that some places like Yahoo hosting for instance, have the Yahoo site builder. Also, my first hosting company (very crappy one) had a site builder called The Voda Site Builder. These are basically site building programs that are propietary to the hosting company. The reality of this though is that most of these site builders are complete garbage, especially if you are looking for professional quality web design software. I tried them out, and some boast of be able to “drag and drop” images, and a few other functions.
If this is the type of web hosting site builder you may be asking about then please save yourself the grief, and don’t even bother using some of these propietary softwares. The experience I had with them was, sure, everything looked just fine as far as web design inside of the software, but once you viewed your site in either Firefox or Internet Explorer the sites would look like crap. Images would be completely out of place, tables not positioned properly etc. When it comes right down to it, they just ended up wasting a lot of my precious time.
You GVO account doesn’t come with this type of web hosting site builder. But, it does come with many different platforms on which you can design your sites. GVO comes with Fantastico Deluxe. Inside of Fantastico Deluxe you can find Wordpress. Wordpress is my personal top choice of all for creating practically all of my different web sites. I’ve even found an excellent template for building all of my niche sites with for Wordpress. It’s not a blogging type of template, it’s actually specifically designed for a niche web site. With Wordpress, there are literally thousands of different styles of templates and themes that you can find for practically any type of site you could ever want to create.
Also within Fantastico is Joomla, Drupal, and a few more different types of site building softwares. Feel rest assured, you will be getting a very well equipped hosting account. There is also different types of help desks, cgi scripts, email platforms and more!
If you really wanted to get a top notch desktop based site building software, then one would have to invest in something like Dream Weaver. If your skill level is at that level, then I’m sure you are well aware of that. If Dream Weaver price is out of touch for some of you, then there are lots of other site building softwares available for no cost on the Internet. NVU is one such popular program.
So does GVO come with a web hosting site builder? Yes, and no, but any way you look at it your GVO hosting account is of the best quality available. With Fantastico Deluxe included it will more than likely handle the major portion of your needs.
